This reference document has been prepared to provide guidance to the pavement community on sustainability considerations in pavement systems, drawing from and synthesizing the large and diverse body of knowledge that exists on pavement sustainability.

On December 16, 2021, Specialized Construction Incorporated hosted a webinar on Cold In Place Recycling for Central Ohio decision makers. The webinar was hosted by The White Stone Consulting Group and featured insights from Joe Gigliotti, PE, from Chagrin Valley Engineering.

Currently there are no universally agreed upon methods for testing when a recycled mat is fully cured. This paper investigates and suggests a series of tests that can be used to arrive at a more precise understanding.

Chapter 13 of the Pavement Recycling Guidelines for State and Local Governments. This chapter covers the methods of construction and equipment for cold in-place recycling. Although it is a good overview, improvements in construction equipment now allow for much deeper milling and recycling than were available at the time of this publication.

This Technical Brief provides project selection guidelines for the cold recycling techniques of cold in-place and cold central plant recycling. The Tech Brief intends to aid the user in properly selecting candidate projects for using cold pavement recycling.
